The EcoPlusHome has to solar systems. A Photovoltaic System to generate electricity and a solar thermal system to generate heat for the domestic water
Photovoltaic
A monocrystalline solar module system is installed on the roofs of the EcoPlusHome.
Facts:
- 52x monocrystalline solar modules Solon Black 230/Wp with 60 Bosch cells
- 33 on roof main house
- 8 on roof garage
- 11 deck coverage
- Active PV surface area: 921 ft² (85.58 m²)
- Installed PV output: 11.98 kWp
- Cal. grid feed-in (AC): 14.164 kWh/yr
- CO2 emissions avoided: 27,661 lbs/yr (12.547 kg/yr)
The EcoPlusHome is using Net metering and is connected with the grid. Net metering is a cost effective way to store electricity, by eliminating the need for storage batteries.
Solar thermal
The solar thermal panels generate heat for the domestic water.
Facts:
- 4 Flate plate collectors SKS4.0 for DHW preparation and heating support
- Aperture area: 89.96 ft²
- Delivered energy to system: 18.06 MBtu/yr
- Installed Gross Output: 22.96 kBtu/hr
- Tilt angle 36° facing south
- Solar storage DHW tank SM500
Both the water tank and the piping are well insulated. The solar thermal system is integral in the geothermal heat pump, supporting the heating of the house.
